In the book business since 1998
Kat grew up in Midtown Memphis, attended White Station High School, and studied English at the University of Mississippi. She married Josh in 2004 and they moved to Athens, Georgia where she eventually worked for the UGA library system and got an MLIS from Valdosta State University. She moved back to Memphis to take a job as the Adult Services Librarian at the Collierville Burch Library, where she acted as a Reference and Collection Development manager. In 2012 her son Matthew was born, and around 18 months later she left her library job to spend more time with Matthew and to get ready for Betty, born in 2015. In addition to doing some freelance writing, Kat was thrilled to land a part-time job at Booksellers, nee Davis-Kidd, where she'd shopped since she was a little girl. Most of her jobs have been among books and book people, where she feels most at home. Current events notwithstanding, she has never been happier with her daily life than she is now, hanging with Josh, Matthew, and Betty and the rest of her Memphis and Oxford family, reading as much as possible, and writing and talking about books for a living.
