Kat

Bookseller
In the book business since 1998

Kat grew up in Midtown Memphis, went to White Station, then to the University of Mississippi. She and Josh met and married in Oxford, Mississippi, then escaped (small towns, ACK) to Athens, Georgia, which was kinda fun while it lasted (college towns, ACKKKKKK), but Kat started to get homesick and sad so Josh agreed to come home to Memphis with her. She knew he'd fit right in around here, and sure enough, he does. Now they have a couple of school age kids, truly two of the most interesting, funny, and pleasant people you could ever hope to meet. They also have a pit mix named GG who found her way to their door, and with whom the whole family is surprisingly obsessed.

Josh is beginning his second career as a teacher this year, and Kat is plugging along in her career, which as it turns out is just "books." In the decades since she graduated college she's only spent two (tragic) years working somewhere besides a bookstore or library, and at this point, it's safe to say it's both a career and a lifestyle, reading being literally her only hobby, and book people being the only group she can really stand to spend 40 hours a week among. The world is burning, but at least there are books and kids.
